Meet Kim

Kim Tsai is a spiritual director, sacred artist and social scientist whose life has been shaped by the meeting of East and West. Born to Chinese and English parents, she has lived in seven countries, speaks several languages and is a mother of four. For more than two decades, she has worked alongside refugees and people seeking asylum.

Growing up on an English council estate shaped her deep commitment to justice, equality and standing alongside those whose voices are often unheard. Her work brings together contemplative living, creativity and social engagement. She writes icons, explores dreams as places of spiritual reflection and follows a rhythm of prayer, work and rest.

Kim holds a PhD in the ecology of affect, exploring how human emotions shape our relationships and our experience of the world. At the heart of her work is a conviction that attentive presence can open the way to deeper meaning, creativity and encounter with the sacred.
